Shop French Girl Hand-Dyed Luxury Yarns

Yarn spun from the luxury fibers of merino wool, alpaca, silk and kid mohair is something I adore and often use in my work.  Finding a palette of shades that complement the French Girl design esthetic has been more of a challenge however, which lead to the development of French Girl Hand-Dyed Luxury Fibers.

By offering these yarns exclusively through our website, we will be able to keep prices reasonable and respond quickly to the needs of our customers.  Our initial offerings will be 3 yarns in a range of nature-inspired, subtle shades: from the tint of Seattle's winter clouds over the mountains to the warm, honeyed tones of the Mediterranean beaches we visit each fall with our belle france tours .

Soie-Laine:
a silk-merino 50/50 blend in a worsted weight that glides off your needles and is a delight to wear close to the skin. Perfect almost year-round, this lovely yarn shows off fancy stitch work from cables to lace.  Knitters and crocheters alike will covet this yarn's versatility and drape. Put up in 250 yd/229 m skeins.

Rustique:
a thick and thin handspun-look 100% merino ideal for chunky knits with a super-soft feel without a bulky appearance.  Whip up garments in no time at all that have a sophisticated style yet rustic edge. Available in generous 250 yd/229 m skeins.

Soie-Fine:
a heavenly kid mohair-silk 60/40 blend that is as light as a feather yet can be used for gauges from laceweight to sport; doubled yarn creates a lovely, super-luxe garment at DK gauge and beyond.  Skeins are put up in either 25 grams(279 yds/255 m) or 50 grams (558 yds/510 m) to minimize yarn joins.

All yarn lines are custom dyed in the French Girl Studio in Seattle WA USA using low impact acid or natural plant dyes; each line of yarn may be used with the other to create unique, one-of-a-kind garments.

Organic cotton, bamboo, alpaca-blend and cashmere fibers are in the pipeline for future development and new French Girl designs are on the horizon in all our yarns for Fall 2009.   Please join our mailing list for details on the arrival of French Girl Hand-Dyed Luxury Yarns in late Fall of 2009.
